Hanley, Mookie, Panda eye All-Star selection

BOSTON -- Hanley Ramirez is a three-time All-Star as a shortstop, but this marks his first time on the ballot as an outfielder. It is also his first time on the American League ballot, which was released on Wednesday.

In his return to Boston, Ramirez has been the slugger the Red Sox were hoping for.

Center fielder Mookie Betts is also on the ballot for the first time, and he has already made several thrilling plays on offense and defense this season. Right fielder Shane Victorino rounds out Boston's outfield trio on the ballot.

Third baseman Pablo Sandoval, in his first season with the Red Sox, is vying for the third All-Star appearance of his career.

Designated hitter David Ortiz, Boston's beloved slugger, is hoping to become a 10-time All-Star after the rarity of not being selected last season.
