Replay awards Rios his 14th homer

DETROIT -- A sixth-inning, one-out Alex Rios hit, originally called a double, was overturned by video replay and the White Sox right fielder was credited with his 14th home run during Sunday's game at Comerica Park.

Rios launched a first-pitch cutter off of Detroit rookie Jacob Turner that looked as if it hit the top of the fence and bounced back on to the field, sending Paul Konerko to third base. But television replays clearly showed the ball cleared the fence, and the three umpires who went in to review the play took a very brief period of time to correct the original call.

The homer cut the Tigers' lead to 6-3 at the time.
