Carlton Fisk bobbleheads, 1975 uniforms, and a host of returning players to commemorate 40th Anniversary of pennant-winning Red Sox this Tuesday, May 5, at Fenway Park

BOSTON, MA - On Tuesday, May 5, during pre-game ceremonies before the 7:10 p.m. Red Sox-Rays game at Fenway Park, members of the 1975 American League Champions will return to the field on which they performed so memorably 40 years ago.

From the rookie seasons of the "Gold Dust Twins," Fred Lynn and Jim Rice, to Carlton Fisk's iconic home run to end Game Six, the moments and memories will be celebrated with approximately 26 of the players from that championship squad.

The 1975 World Series is still considered one of the greatest ever played.

All fans will receive Carlton Fisk bobbleheads, presented by The Sports Authority, and the players will don 1975 "throwback" jerseys.

"At a time when baseball was said to be in a slump, the 1975 team and World Series brought baseball back in full luster," said Red Sox President/CEO Larry Lucchino. "This team was responsible for inspiring a generation of late-blooming baby boomers to fall in love with the game, and for creating one of the most dramatic moments in Red Sox history, and baseball history, with Carlton Fisk's home run. We look forward to commemorating their accomplishments at Fenway Park on May 5."

Expected participants include Tim Blackwell, Rick Burleson, Bernie Carbo, Reggie Cleveland, Cecil Cooper, Steve Dillard, Denny Doyle, Dick Drago, Dwight Evans, Carlton Fisk, Bob Heise, Buddy Hunter, Rick Kreuger, Bill Lee, Fred Lynn, Tim McCarver, Andy Merchant, Rick Miller, Bob Montgomery, Roger Moret, Jim Rice, Diego Segui, Luis Tiant, Jim Willoughby, Rick Wise, and the great number eight, Carl Yastrzemski.

The team last wore throwback uniforms (from 1912) on April 20, 2012 for the celebration of Fenway Park's 100th anniversary.

The Fisk bobblehead, commemorating his iconic World Series home run, is the first of three 1975 bobbleheads that fans will receive at Fenway Park this season. On May 21, the Red Sox will present Luis Tiant bobbleheads, presented by Granite City Electric, and on September 22, fans will receive bobbleheads of the first player to ever win "Rookie of the Year" and "MVP" honors, centerfielder Fred Lynn, presented by Old Dominion Freight Line.
