Rox get Hensley as they ship Harang to Seattle

DENVER -- The Rockies received pitching depth in the form of right-hander Steven Hensley in a deal that sent right-handed pitcher Aaron Harang and cash considerations to the Mariners on Thursday.

The deal with Seattle completed a process that started Saturday, when Colorado acquired Harang and cash considerations from the Dodgers for catcher Ramon Hernandez. The Rockies, with no room on their 40-man roster and a set pitching rotation, designated Harang for assignment and worked on making another deal.

Hensley, 26, the Mariners' fourth-round pick in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, has made two appearances at Triple-A Tacoma and has given up one earned run and two hits in 2 2/3 innings. Hensley is 30-30 with a 4.48 ERA in 123 appearances, including 72 starts. Hensley is not a member of the 40-man Major League roster.

Harang, 34, an 11-year veteran with a 105-104 record and a 4.19 ERA in 299 career Major League games, bolsters a young Seattle rotation.
