Royals and Sprint announce improved cellular service at Kauffman Stadium

KANSAS CITY, MO (April 3, 2015) - The Kansas City Royals have worked closely with Sprint during the offseason to significantly enhance the carrier's "distributed antenna system" (DAS) at Kauffman Stadium. 

"Sprint customers will see an improved experience when calling, texting or using cellular data at The K," said Brian Himstedt, Royals Senior Director-Information Systems. "Our fans will particularly notice improvements during events with capacity crowds and high usage."

Sprint, a longtime sponsor of the hometown Royals, is the only wireless carrier serving Kauffman Stadium with a DAS. Sprint's extensive system provides voice and data service throughout the entire stadium utilizing all three of Sprint's spectrum bands (1.9GHz, 2.5GHz and 800MHz).
