Holland good to go after stiff neck improves

KANSAS CITY -- Royals manager Ned Yost said that closer Greg Holland, recovering from a stiff neck, is good to go again.

Holland, too, confirmed that prognosis.

"Well, I'd say about 98 percent or so," Holland said. "But I'm ready again."

Holland awoke Tuesday morning with the stiff neck and was not available for a save situation on Tuesday night.

"Just one of those things," Yost said. "It happens to all of us, you just kind of sleep funny."

Holland earlier was on the disabled list with a pectoral strain. He said that injury is 100-percent better.

Holland last pitched on May 14.

Kratz off to Omaha: Backup catcher Erik Kratz, recovering from a left foot injury, is headed for Triple-A Omaha.

Yost would not say how long Kratz would be on the assignment.

"As long as it takes," Yost said.

The Royals will have a decision to make once Kratz is ready: Drew Butera is Salvador Perez's backup, but Butera is out of options.
