Omaha built a 4-0 lead in the first and held on for a series-opening win. Ben Broussard's sac fly plated Irving Falu, with Christian Colon scoring on the play due to a throwing error. Brett Hayes capped the inning with a two-run homer. Brian Sanches (5.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO) allowed his lone run on a homer in the fifth.

A bases-loaded walk in the 13th dropped the Naturals to 1-1 vs. Springfield. Jason Adam worked 7.0 innings, allowing three runs, four hits and three walks. Former Nationals pitcher Jason Bergmann made his first appearance in the Royals organization, yielding a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning. Matt Fields hit his 22nd home run, tying him with Springfield's Xavier Scruggs for first in the Texas League.

Wilmington returned to .500, finishing 3-1 vs. Frederick. Kyle Smith worked 6.0 innings, holding the Keys to a run on seven hits and no walks. The Blue Rocks were held hitless until the sixth. Parker Morin drew a bases-loaded walk in the eighth, scoring Jorge Bonifacio for the go-ahead run. Bonifacio was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Lexington was swept in a three-game series at home. Christian Binford worked a season-high 8.0 innings, fanning eight while allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and one walk. Michael Antonio's fifth-inning homer was Lexington's first hit. Raul Mondesi added a single in the eighth.

Idaho Falls moved to 1-2 in a four-game series. Humberto Arteaga, Nic Cuckovich and Elier Hernandez drove in two runs apiece. Alexis Rivera and Dominique Taylor recorded three runs each. 2013 second-round pick Cody Reed allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit and four walks over 3.0 innings.

Bluefield at Burlington - Postponed
Burlington's contests vs. Bluefield were postponed due to rain and wet conditions. The completion of Wednesday's suspended game is scheduled for today at 4:00 p.m., with a second game to follow. The third game of the series will be played as part of a doubleheader in Bluefield on July 17.
