Omaha won the opener at New Orleans. Paulo Orlando started the scoring with a three-run double in the third. Matt Fields added a much-needed insurance homer, tying Francisco Pena for the team lead at 20 home runs. Starter John Lamb was ejected in the fifth inning. Jason Adam tossed 2.0 perfect innings for his first Triple-A win. He is ranked eighth among Royals prospects by MLB.com. Tim Collins earned the save, tossing 3.0 innings.
NW Arkansas Naturals (17-18 second half, 42-63 overall)

J.C. Sulbaran tossed 7.0 shutout innings as Northwest Arkansas evened the series at a game apiece. The righty struck out nine, scattering four hits and two walks. The Naturals scored three in the second. Edinson Rincon drove in the first run. Angel Franco added two hits, an RBI and a run.

Jonathan Dziedzic, Miguel Almonte and Daniel Stumpf combined on a two-hit shutout. Dziedzic fanned three, walked one and allowed a hit over 5.0 innings. Almonte (3.2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO) earned the win and Stumpf recorded one out for the save. Almonte is ranked fifth among Royals prospects. Jared Schlehuber was 2-for-3 with both Wilmington runs.

The Legends have lost eight straight after being swept by Charleston. Tripp Davis retired all 10 batters he faced in a relief outing, striking out three. Carlos Garcia was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and the lone Lexington run. He has hit in 11 straight games (.432, 19-for-44).

Every Idaho Falls batter recorded at least one hit and one run in a lopsided road win. Robert Pehl drove in four, with Mike Hill, Kyle Pollock and Brandon Thomasson posting three RBI apiece. Thomasson hit his first professional home run. He was KC's ninth-round pick last month.

Burlington won two vs. Kingsport. The first contest, scheduled for seven innings, went 10. Jose Martinez singled, stole second and third, then scored the winning run due to a wild pitch during the second steal attempt. Carter Hope held the Mets to two runs, five hits and three walks along with four strikeouts over 6.0 innings. Estarlin Cordero worked 4.0 scoreless innings, with runners reaching only on errors. Burlington scored five in the third inning of game two, building a 6-0 lead. Cristian Cano and Jose Martinez had two hits, an RBI and a run apiece. Chase Darhower carried a shutout into his fifth and final inning, allowing two runs, three hits and two walks while striking out three.
