Christian Colon's homer in the 11th lifted Omaha to a series-opening win. The Royals' No. 15 prospect added two doubles and three runs. Francisco Pena and Justin Maxwell homered for the second time in as many nights. Maxwell recorded four hits, finishing a double shy of the cycle. Bruce Chen made his third rehab start, allowing six runs, eight hits and two walks while striking out one over three innings.

NW Arkansas Naturals (24-43)

The Naturals were held to three singles in a road loss. Northwest Arkansas tied the game at 1 in the fourth, with Jorge Bonifacio scoring on a wild pitch. Springfield moved ahead in the home half, also on a wild pitch. Andy Ferguson pitched well in defeat, striking out three while scattering two runs, seven hits and two walks over seven innings.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (31-35)

The Blue Rocks split a doubleheader against. Carolina. Sixth-ranked Royals prospect Hunter Dozier hit a three-run homer in the first inning of Game 1. Eleventh-ranked prospect Christian Binford struck out five while scattering three hits and no walks over six innings. Wilmington scored three times in the seventh inning of Game 2, forcing extras. Carolina reeled off back-to-back doubles in the eighth, winning 4-3. Starter Luis Santos allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and five walks while striking out five over six innings. Terrance Gore recorded two hits, an RBI and his 20th stolen base.

Lexington Legends (29-39)

Charleston 8, Lexington 2

HR: Elier Hernandez (6)

The Legends dropped to 1-1 in their four-game series. Charleston scored four in the first and three in the second. Elier Hernandez, the Royals' 10th-ranked prospect was 2-for-4 with his second solo homer in his last three games. Chad Johnson, Frank Schwindel and Dominique Taylor added singles.
