Omaha Storm Chasers (28-27)

Francisco Pena drove in the go-ahead tally in a four-run eighth as Omaha moved to 2-1 at El Paso. Whit Merrifield went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a run, pacing a 13-hit night for the Storm Chasers. Cheslor Cuthbert was 2-for-2 with two runs after entering as a pinch runner. Brandon Finnegan fanned six over 3.1 innings, allowing a pair of runs in the first. Clayton Mortensen tossed 2.0 scoreless innings for the win.

NW Arkansas Naturals (32-19)

NW Arkansas 3, Corpus Christi 1

HR: Zane Evans (1 with NW Arkansas, 5 overall)

Zane Evans clubbed a two-run homer in the ninth, lifting Northwest Arkansas to a win in the finale at Corpus Christi. The homer was Evans' first at the Double-A level. He also doubled home Jorge Bonifacio in the fifth. Bonifacio was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs. Luke Farrell held the Hooks to an unearned run, five hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Daniel Stumpf (2.1 IP) earned the relief win.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (30-23)

Wilmington 7, Frederick 5 (Completed early - rain)

HR: Dex Kjerstad (2)

Wilmington won a rain-shortened opener vs. Frederick, with the game called in the seventh after a 58 minute delay. Eric Skoglund (6.0 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO) settled in after allowing five runs in the first. Dex Kjerstad's two-run homer in the fifth gave Wilmington the lead. The home run capped a four-run frame as Frank Schwindel doubled home a pair. Schwindel finished with two doubles and three RBI.

Lexington Legends (24-30)

Lexington 3, Augusta 2 (13 innings)
WP: Emilio Ogando (3-3)
SV: Jake Newberry (3) HR: None

Wander Franco scored on a balk in the 13th as Lexington won game one at Augusta. Brandon Downes had two doubles and an RBI, while Alfredo Escalera had two hits and an RBI. Emilio Ogando worked 4.2 scoreless innings for the win.
