Omaha Storm Chasers (17-19)

The Storm Chasers were held to one hit in an opening loss at Memphis, their fifth straight defeat overall. Lefty Tim Conley held Omaha hitless until Casey Kotchman's one-out single in the seventh. This was just the second time Omaha has been held to one hit since the start of 2010. John Lamb took his first loss, allowing four runs, six hits and four walks with six strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings. Two games are on tap for Sunday, with Yohan Pino and Aaron Brooks the scheduled starters.

NW Arkansas Naturals (23-12)

HR: Balbino Fuenmayor (9), Hunter Dozier (2)

Northwest Arkansas won at home, scoring once in each of the first four innings, then six times in the eighth. Balbino Fuenmayor and Hunter Dozier hit solo homers, with Fuenmayor now leading the league with nine. Miguel Almonte tossed five shutout innings, scattering two hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Almonte ran his scoreless streak to 16 innings, including five frames in each of his last three starts. He has lowered his ERA from 6.23 to 2.73 over four starts since May 1. Sam Selman, the club's 2012 second-round pick, fanned five over 2 1/3 scoreless innings, earning his first professional save.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (19-16)

Wilmington 4, Lynchburg 2

HR: Frank Schwindel (3), Dex Kjerstad (1)

Dex Kjerstad hit a three-run pinch-hit homer in the ninth, lifting Wilmington to a win at Lynchburg. Kjerstad became the first Blue Rock to record a pinch-hit homer since 1998. The game was scoreless until Frank Schwindel's solo homer in the seventh. He added a double and is batting .389 (14-for-36) over his last 10 games. Eric Skoglund, a third-round pick in 2014, posted 10 strikeouts over six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and a walk.

Lexington Legends (15-20)

Savannah 5, Lexington 2
LP: Torey Deshazier (3-2)
HR: None

Lexington dropped to 2-1 at Savannah as the Sand Gnats scored four in the eighth. Starter Nik Stephenson held Savannah to a run, three hits and a walk with six strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings. Humberto Arteaga, Brandon Downes, Wander Franco, Carlos Garcia and Elier Hernandez had two hits apiece.
