Omaha waited out a rain delay, then proceeded to score the final nine runs in an opening win at Oklahoma City. Carlos Peguero was 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run. Francisco Pena added two hits, two RBI and two runs. Justin Maxwell collected three hits and two runs while 15th-ranked Royals prospect Christian Colon recorded three hits plus an RBI. Brett Tomko (5.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 5 BB, 0 SO) picked up the win, with Buddy Baumann tossing 3.0 scoreless innings in relief.

NW Arkansas Naturals (18-21)

The Naturals lost game one of a Texas swing that will also take them to Corpus Christi. San Antonio hit two home runs, accounting for all of the scoring off of Andy Ferguson (4.0 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO). Justin Trapp posted two hits and an RBI for the Naturals. Lane Adams notched his third straight multi-hit game (6-for-11). Jorge Bonifacio and Micah Gibbs each recorded a hit and a run. Bonifacio is ranked third among Royals prospects by MLB.com.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (26-24)

The Blue Rocks won game one at Carolina, with Glenn Sparkman (5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 4 SO) and Zeb Sneed (4.0 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 3 SO) combining on a shutout. Wilmington scored two in the seventh and four in the eighth. Daniel Rockett was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Reigning Carolina League Player of the Week and sixth-ranked Royals prospect Hunter Dozier posted two singles, an RBI and two runs. Seventh-ranked prospect Bubba Starling lost his 15-game hitting streak, finishing 0-for-4 with a sac fly RBI.

Lexington lost a road contest as Asheville plated two in the ninth. Alfredo Escalera, Frank Schwindel and Fred Ford all hit solo homers for the Legends. Mauricio Ramos recorded three hits, an RBI and a run. Samir Duenez added a single, a double, an RBI and a run.
