San Diego Clasico at Petco Park to be rescheduled

July 12 soccer double header postponed until this fall

SAN DIEGO - It was announced today that the San Diego Clásico, scheduled for July 12 at Petco Park, has been postponed until this fall. The 2014 San Diego Clásico was scheduled as a double header featuring Club América vs. Dorados de Sinaloa in the first match and Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente, commonly referred to as Xolos de Tijuana, vs. Cruz Azul in the nightcap. A new date for the Clásico will be announced later this summer.

"With soccer fans around the world focused on the World Cup right now, we haven't seen the same level of fan interest for this year's San Diego Clásico that we saw last year," said Anthony Fernandez from Pazzo Sports. "For that reason, we've decided to postpone the Clásico until the fall. Anyone who has purchased tickets will be able to receive a refund at point of purchase."
