Second baseman Chase Utley inducted into Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame

Before Friday night’s game, the Phillies kicked off Toyota Phillies Alumni Weekend with Wall of Fame Night, honoring Chase Utley, the greatest second baseman in club history.

Utley’s friend and 2008 World Series champion teammate Pat Burrell spoke about “The Man,” while tens of thousands of Phillies fans cheered. Other Phillies legends and Wall of Famers were in attendance, including Jimmy Rollins, Mike Schmidt and Steve Carlton. Plus, Ryan Howard unveiled Utley’s new plaque at the Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame. Phillies Managing Partner and CEO John Middleton presented Utley with his Wall of Fame ring.

Later that night, Phillies Wall of Famers Bobby Abreu, Burrell and Mike Lieberthal changed the bases on-field.
