Softball legend Abbott dazzles Rangers pitchers

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Monica Abbott, one of the greatest collegiate softball pitchers in history, was in camp with the Rangers' Minor League pitchers on Saturday. She gave them an impressive display of her pitching prowess on the back field.

"I'm ready to sign her up," pitching coach Mike Maddux said.

Abbott pitched at the University of Tennessee from 2004-07 and finished her career as the all-time Division I leader in wins, strikeouts, innings pitched, shutouts and games started. She was the College Player of the Year in 2007 and on the United States team that won a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing.
