Sore wrist to keep Morse out of Nats' lineup
Slugger slated to undergo tests on Wednesday in New York
Morse played Tuesday against the Mets, going 0-for-5 and seeing his batting average go down to .285. Morse said he has been playing with the wrist injury for at least a month. Morse originally hurt the hand while playing against the Giants in San Francisco.
"I'm not helping the team when I'm not 100 percent. I'm not helping myself either," Morse said. "I'm going to get it looked at the next couple of days and get down to the bottom of it -- try to get back to 100 percent.
"I'm not worried. It's just good to know -- precautionary. I just want to get something going from here, because I'm sick of hurting the team."
With Morse out, manager Davey Johnson will either start Roger Bernadina or Tyler Moore in left field against the Mets on Wednesday.
