Sunday's win over the New York Mets, the Royals' 11th victory in 12 games, ranks as the highest-rated Royals telecast ever on FOX Sports Kansas City. It averaged a 9.7 household rating in the Kansas City market, according to The Nielsen Co.
Sunday's game peaked at a 12.2 rating (114,000 households) and 24 share. It was the most-watched TV program of the weekend in Kansas City.
The Boulevard Royals Live postgame show also set a new all-time mark Sunday, earning a 6.3 rating.
Sunday's game soared past Friday's extra-inning loss, which averaged a 9.1, as the highest-rated game on FOX Sports Kansas City. Friday's game was the most-watched program of the day and FOX Sports Kansas City's prime time average (9.7) was No. 1 in Kansas City, more than doubling closest competitor KCTV-CBS (4.5).
Royals telecasts on FOX Sports Kansas City are averaging a 6.1 in 2013, up 54 percent over last season.
