Tampa Bay's Colome suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Alex Colome has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Boldenone, a performance-enhancing substance, in violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Colome, who is currently on the Club's 40-man roster as a member of Triple-A Durham of the International League, will be effective at the start of the 2014 regular season.
