Several events and promotions during Rangers nine-game homestand against Cincinnati, Seattle, and Houston beginning Friday

Festivities planned for Fourth of July; Club to hold City of West Night on Saturday, July 6

Arlington, Texas - The Texas Rangers begin a nine-game, 10-day homestand on Friday, June 28, hosting three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds (June 28-30), Seattle Mariners (July 2-4), and Houston Astros (July 5-7). The homestand will include three postgame fireworks shows, a gloops Fedora Hat giveaway, as well as several other promotions.

Prior to the July 4 game, more than 150 individuals will be inducted into the United States Air Force in an on-field ceremony, followed by a flyover of vintage aircraft from the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. A spectacular fireworks show set to patriotic music follows the game.

In addition to the Budweiser presents Casey Donahew Band Postgame Concert on Saturday, June 29, the homestand will include three giveaway items: POWERADE / Walmart Kid's Mystery Bat Day on Sunday, June 30, gloops Fedora Hat on Tuesday, July 2, and Dr Pepper / Tom Thumb Rangers Red Build A Bear giveaway on Sunday, July 7.

On July 2 vs. Seattle, it is Fedora Hat giveaway for first 30,000 fans with a Dallas RBI kids pre-game pop up contest presented by gloops. Learn more about gloops and their mobile games at www.gloopsgames.com.

The two Friday games in the homestand, June 28 vs. Cincinnati and July 5 vs. Houston, will also feature postgame fireworks shows. Tomorrow's fireworks, presented by Big Green Egg and Morrison Supply Company, will be set to "Cruisin'" music, while the July 5 show will have a Texas theme.

On Saturday, July 6 vs. Houston, the Rangers will host the residents and first responders from West, Texas which endured a devastating explosion and fires on April 17. The Rangers are expecting over 4,500 individuals to attend the game, an event that will include a pre-game picnic followed by on-field ceremonies with participation from City of West officials and first responders, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, and the Major League Baseball Tomorrow Fund. West Mayor Tommy Muska is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch and the National Anthem and Color Guard that evening will be presented by individuals from West. The Jr. Historian Czech dance group will perform prior to the game. There will be also be a moment of silence for the 15 individuals who lost their lives during the tragedy in West.

The Rangers will wear a SUPPORT WEST patch on the right sleeves of their game jerseys for the July 6 game. The jerseys will be raffled to raise additional funds for the relief efforts. Raffle tickets will be sold at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 from the time gates open until 90 minutes after first pitch. On Friday, July 5, raffle tickets can also be purchased at the Rangers executive office during normal business hours.

The club will host #TexasTweetUp prior to the game on Saturday, June 29, as part of the team's 2013 Social Media Weekend. The event will allow social media-minded Rangers fans to participate in a special pregame program that day, featuring pitcher Robbie Ross. The Cincinnati Reds will be making just their second-ever visit to Arlington, the other coming in 2002, when the Rangers took 2 of 3 games. The only other team that has gone that long without playing at Rangers Ballpark (in the regular season) is San Francisco, who last played in Arlington in 2001. The Astros will be visiting Arlington for the first time as an American League club. Texas has gone 13-5 in home games against Houston since 2007.
