DWF helping fight vs. multiple sclerosis

Melville, N.Y. -- The David Wright Foundation, an organization founded in 2005 by New York Met David Wright, has donated $10,800 to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Long Island Chapter. The donation was made to cover respite care for the caregivers and family members of those suffering with the devastating effects of MS.

Since its inception, the David Wright Foundation's focus has been to raise funds, awareness and financial support to MS causes. The donation was made in honor of Dave and Caroline Kerpen's wedding held on July 8, 2006.

"The families and caregivers of those suffering with the effects of MS benefit greatly from our respite program," sayid Pamela Mastrota, president and CEO of NMSSLI. "The support of the David Wright Foundation and people like Dave and Caroline is very much appreciated."

About the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Long Island Chapter:

Founded in 1946, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society supports more MS research, offers more services for people with MS, provides more professional education programs, and furthers more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world.

We do this through the extensive research we support to find the cause, cure and improved treatments of the disease; the comprehensive services we provide to people with MS and their families; the professional education programs we offer to assist health care providers better serve their MS patients; and through our advocacy efforts on state and federal levels to encourage public policies supportive of the needs of people with multiple sclerosis.
