Third to first

• The White Sox had lost seven straight games in Oakland before winning Wednesday's series finale.

"This is a tough place to play," Ventura said. "These guys, they swing the bat, they play smart baseball. They have good pitching. We've seen it over the years that they're pretty good at knocking guys in. They get 'em on and do some stuff. They get a little momentum anytime someone gets on."

Adam Eaton (strained right hamstring) spent the morning with the White Sox before heading to Durham, N.C., to go on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte.

"I was watching him do stuff yesterday," Ventura said. "He was out doing stuff in the outfield, running around. His game is being able to use his legs. You don't want to keep that from him, you don't want to hamper him and have him go out there without having every possible thing he can use successfully for him and us."
