Tigers surpass 3 million tickets sold for third time in club history

DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers today reached three million tickets sold in advance sales for the 2012 season. It is the
third time in the last six seasons the Tigers have surpassed three million tickets sold. As of today, advance sales for
the 2012 season have the Tigers currently at 3,000,744 tickets sold. The Tigers previously reached the three-million
plateau in 2008 when they established a franchise record with 3,202,645 tickets sold. The club sold 3,047,139
tickets in 2007, which marked the first time the club reached the three million mark.
The Tigers have sold out 31 games in 2012, marking the second-highest total number of sellouts in club history.
The Tigers sold out a record 41 games in 2008. The Tigers’ 2012 average attendance of 37,953 currently ranks
seventh in Major League Baseball, third in the American League and first in the AL Central Division. During the past
seven seasons, the Tigers have sold nearly 20 million tickets (19,516,932) and have averaged 2,788,133 fans per
season.

“Reaching three million tickets sold is a testament to Tigers fans and their loyalty to the team, and their love for the

As a way of saying thank you to Tigers fans for reaching the three-million mark, one lucky fan entering
Comerica Park during the final homestand will be a randomly selected guest to represent all Tigers fans, as the
“Three Millionth Fan”, and will receive two, 27-game season tickets for 2013, upgraded tickets for the game, an
opportunity to throw out one of the game's ceremonial first pitches and a gift basket full of Tigers items.

Every Game Counts and fans still have an opportunity to be part of the Pennant Race as the Tigers have 11 home
games remaining on 2012 regular season schedule. The Tigers conclude their series with the Cleveland Indians
tonight at 7:05 p.m. and return to Comerica Park to host the Oakland Athletics (September 18-20); the Minnesota
Twins (September 21-23); and the Kansas City Royals (September 24-27). Advance purchase is encouraged.
