To vote Red Sox into All-Star Game, go online

BOSTON -- In-stadium balloting for the 2014 All-Star Game ended at Fenway Park on Wednesday before the Red Sox headed west for a seven-game road trip, so fans will only be able to vote Boston's contenders into the Midsummer Classic online.

David Ortiz was second among American League designated hitters as of Monday, trailing Baltimore's Nelson Cruz by about 450,000 votes. Dustin Pedroia was third among second basemen and A.J. Pierzynski sat in fourth for catchers, although leading vote-getter Matt Wieters will have season-ending Tommy John surgery.

Fans can cast their votes for starters at and all 30 club sites -- online or on a mobile device -- using the 2014 All-Star Game Ballot Sponsored by Experian until Thursday, July 3, at 11:59 p.m. ET. The 2014 All-Star Game will be played at Target Field on Tuesday, July 15.

Fans may submit up to 25 online ballots, but they can also earn a one-time bonus of 10 additional online ballots.
