Topps to Produce 'Major League' Cards

As we pointed out this weekend, the classic baseball film Major League turns 25 this year. Which, in addition to making us feel really old, means we're going to see some anniversary tributes in 2014. As we saw with The Sandlot last year

The first one will be difficult to beat. Topps is producing cards for Major League characters in their 2014 Topps Archives collection.

Chris Olds at Beckett has the scoop:

That's right, stars of the 1989 movie Major League will be among those signing for the product - cards styled with the 1989 Topps design and with character names and studio licensing that allows for use of the film's logo as well as images as it celebrates its 25th anniversary. So far, Tom Berenger and Corbin Bernsen have signed on for this one. (Could past Topps signer Charlie Sheen be far behind?)

Well played, Topps.
