New Rogers Centre executive chef introducing menu items

Former Top Chef Canada contestant Rivasplata takes over culinary operations

NEW YORK -- The Blue Jays, Rogers Centre and Aramark introduced Elizabeth Rivasplata as the stadium's new executive chef on Thursday afternoon.

Rivasplata is a former contestant on Top Chef Canada and will now head up Aramark's cultinary operations at Rogers Centre. For the 2015 season, some of the new items will include peameal bacon sausage, hand-dipped corn dogs, beer-battered fish and chips, porchetta sandwiches, and slow-roasted or smoked beef brisket.

"I am so excited to join the Aramark culinary team and enhance Roger Centre's dining experience with new and innovative offerings," Rivasplata said in a statement. "There is an abundance of diverse tastes and flavours throughout Toronto and I'm eager to incorporate them into our menus."

Rivasplata is originally from Lima, Peru, and moved to Toronto nine years ago.
