Twins hoping to have Arcia, Hicks on field soon

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Outfielders Oswaldo Arcia and Aaron Hicks are both on the travel list for Tuesday's game against the Rays after Monday's off-day, but it's unclear if Arcia will be ready to play.

Arcia, who was sent home with flu-like symptoms on Thursday, took batting practice on Saturday and was at the park for workouts again on Sunday. But he had to come off the field because he was still feeling sick, so Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he's still not sure if Arcia will be ready for Tuesday's game.

"He's still having some stomach issues," Gardenhire said. "They ran him through some tests yesterday, and he's still having some problems. He had to sprint off the field today with problems."

Hicks, meanwhile, felt discomfort in his elbow while taking swings on Thursday, but his elbow is feeling better. His elbow also doesn't bother him when he throws, so the Twins are hopeful the soreness will subside by Tuesday.

"He told me he'll be ready Tuesday," Gardenhire said. "He said when swinging he feels it a little bit."
