Twins release 2016 Spring Training schedule

Club to play 15 games at renovated CenturyLink Sports Complex

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins announced their Spring Training schedule for 2016 on Wednesday, and it features 33 Grapefruit League games, including 15 at the recently renovated CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers, Fla.

Twins pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report on Feb. 21, with their first workout slated for Feb. 22. The rest of the team will report on Feb. 26, with full-squad workouts beginning on Feb. 27.

Their first game is set for March 2 against the Red Sox in Fort Myers at JetBlue Park. Their home opener at Hammond Stadium, which was renovated before the 2015 season, is March 3 against Boston. The Twins end their Grapefruit League schedule with two exhibition games against the Nationals at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. on April 1 and 2.

Additional highlights of the Twins' home Grapefruit League schedule include three more games against the Red Sox (March 16, 29 and 31), a visit by the National League Central champion St. Louis Cardinals (March 8); a game against the American League Wild Card New York Yankees (March 20); and two games against the NL Wild Card Pittsburgh Pirates (March 21 and 26).
