Twins to recall right-handed pitcher Yohan Pino

Kris Johnson optioned to Triple-A Rochester

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they will recall right-handed pitcher Yohan Pino from Triple-A Rochester prior to tomorrow's game vs. Cleveland. Pino recently made a start for Rochester on July 17 at Norwich, allowing five runs on three hits in 5.0 innings pitched with seven walks and six strikeouts. He has made five starts for the Twins this season, going 1-2, with a 4.39 ERA (26.2 IP, 13 ER), seven walks and nine strikeouts.

To make room for Pino on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned left-handed pitcher Kris Johnson to Triple-A Rochester. In three starts for the Twins this season, he has a record of 0-1, with a 4.73 ERA (13.1 IP, 7 ER), nine walks and 12 strikeouts.

Pino is scheduled to make the start tomorrow night against Cleveland.
