Uribe sits with hamstring strain; DL stint TBD

LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers Manager Don Mattingly said Juan Uribe was day to day with a mild right hamstring strain, but he didn't rule out a trip to the disabled list for the third baseman, who left Thursday night's game in the ninth inning.

"If it'll be a while, it could be a DL," said Mattingly. "We're not going to go six or seven days without him. If he can't run, he can't play. We'll find out tomorrow if he can run."

Uribe was hurt when grounding into a double-play in the seventh inning. He was replaced by Chone Figgins in Thursday night's loss, but Justin Turner started at third base Friday night.

As Mattingly pointed out, the Dodgers don't have a top third-base prospect in the Minor League system. Triple-A Albuquerque's roster doesn't even list a player as a third baseman. Miguel Rojas has started there for the Isotopes the last three games, but he isn't on the Major League roster. Carlos Triunfel and Alex Guerrero are on the roster, but they have played mostly shortstop and second base, respectively. If Uribe goes on the DL, Mattingly said he would likely use Turner and Figgins at the position and call up "somebody" as a utility man.

Guerrero is the better hitter, Triunfel the better defender.
