Video: Matt Kemp on Sesame Street

Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street? Matt Kemp can. He’s going there, and he’s bringing along his vocabulary skills. Kemp will appear on an upcoming episode of the famous PBS show where he’ll mingle with the magical fairy-Muppet Abbey and explain the meaning of the word “attach.” Wait, what? The Dodgers star center fielder is on a children’s TV show? What does this have to do with baseball? How does Tommy Lasorda feel about this? Who cares!?

Matt Kemp is on Sesame Street, and he looks like he’s having a blast! How can he not be? He’s defining words with a Muppet! Sesame Street is timeless and by making an appearance on the classic TV show, the two-time All Star has joined the likes of Jackie Robinson, Derek Jeter and some of the most esteemed Baseball personalities in history. Kemp’s playful cameo serves as an uplifting reminder that professional baseball players can have a positive influence on children and still be role models. I really like that Kemp decided to do this. It’s awesome to see him having fun and embracing a light-hearted attitude, not to mention living out every eight-year old's dream. It’s also refreshing to see Kemp in a frivolous role and shows a side of him that us fans rarely get to see. Baseball is supposed to be fun, and if he can take this all-smiles attitude and “attach” it to his on-field play, then it can only mean good things for him and the Dodgers.

Be sure to check it out.
