Webster will get another turn in rotation

BOSTON -- Despite Allen Webster walking five batters in an inning on Saturday, and six in his 2 2/3-inning stint, manager John Farrell said the righty will get another turn in the rotation.

Webster's next start will most likely be on Friday night in Anaheim.

"He has a tendency to lead with his body a little bit more and it kind of spiraled in a way yesterday with him," said Farrell. "As that inning started unfolding, he started to lead more and more with his body and his arm had an inability to catch up consistently to get his release point out front."

The main thing the Red Sox want to make sure is that Webster doesn't lose confidence.

"When [pitching coach] Juan Nieves and I were talking during that inning and starting to outline some of the things that we needed to address in his next bullpen session, the one thing we have to be clear with Allen is, he's not as far away as he might seem coming out of that outing. Sure, the linescore doesn't lie, but he's a small adjustment away from being in the strike zone more consistently."
