White Sox announce final series activities

WHAT:

Chicago White Sox promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the final home series of the season vs. Kansas City. Tickets for all four games of the home series are available whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and all Ticketmaster locations.

Throughout the month of September, the White Sox have honored captain Paul Konerko with special fan giveaways for each home game. The month-long celebration includes the creation of "Club Konerko" in Sections 158 and 159 (total of 1,176 seats). Fans who purchase tickets in one of the two designated sections for any remaining game will receive a special Paul Konerko-themed collectible and "Thank You, Paulie" sign to be picked up at the Chicago Sports Depot before the game. Thursday, Saturday and Sunday's games will be televised on Comcast SportsNet. WCIU will broadcast Friday's game. All games will air on WSCR-AM 670 (The Score), the White Sox flagship radio station, and 97.5 FM ESPN Deportes, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.

Fans are invited to celebrate Halfway to St. Patrick's Day with a pregame on-field acoustic set by the Three Men in Kilts and post-game fireworks set to an Irish soundtrack. A pregame parade will include the bagpipes and drums of the Emerald Society as well as the St. Patrick's Day parade queen and her court. The White Sox will wear green pinstripe uniforms. The first 20,000 fans ages 21 years and older will receive a White Sox Irish flat cap, presented by Miller Lite.

Thursday's Club Konerko giveaway is a commemorative Paul Konerko poster. Fans with tickets in Sections 158 and 159 (total of 1,176 seats) can pick up their collectible item at the Chicago Sports Depot before the game.

Lauren Cantinella, St. Patrick's Day parade queen, will throw a ceremonial first pitch in honor of Halfway to St. Patrick's Day Celebration.

Fans are invited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night on Friday with a pregame performance by Los Perros Cubanos at Gate 1 and post-game fireworks set to Latin music. Mariachi Monumental de Mexico will perform an on-field set and the National Anthem. Univision Chicago reporter Angelica Atondo will throw a ceremonial first pitch. UFC fighter Ricardo Lamas also will participate by beginning the game with "Let's play ball!"

White Sox captain Paul Konerko will be honored in a pregame ceremony on Friday, September 26, as the Chicago White Sox 2014 nominee for the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award presented by Chevrolet. Konerko is one of the 30 Club finalists for the annual award, which recognizes a Major League Baseball player who best represents the game of baseball through positive contributions on and off the field. The White Sox will honor retiring captain and franchise legend Paul Konerko with a special pregame tribute on Saturday. The pregame ceremony will be a memorable presentation with special guests and video tributes that celebrate Konerko's career as a member of the White Sox, as well as his legacy off the field. Fans are encouraged to arrive early. The ceremony will be available online through a live stream at MLB.com.

Fans are invited to celebrate Countdown to Halloween on Saturday by wearing costumes and enjoying Halloween-themed activities. There will be trick-or-treating, airbrushed tattoos, stilt-walking vampires and a spooky backdrop for fan photos. Fans also can learn how to dance to "Thriller" at Gate 4. The first 1,000 fans to purchase tickets at whitesox.com/boo will receive a glow-in-the-dark White Sox trick-or-treat tote bag.

The White Sox and Comcast SportsNet (CSN) Chicago will host "Hawk & Stone Live from Club Konerko" game broadcast on Saturday, September 27, as the White Sox honor captain Paul Konerko in a pregame ceremony. White Sox announcers Ken "Hawk" Harrelson and Steve Stone will broadcast the game from "Club Konerko" in Section 159.

The White Sox will show appreciation for the dedication and passion White Sox fans displayed throughout the season with "Fan Appreciation Day" on Sunday. All fans in attendance will receive a free ticket voucher for a 2015 April or May home game (excluding Opening Day). Throughout the game, fans in attendance will have the opportunity to win an array of prizes that will be randomly distributed throughout ballpark. There also will be a kids-only raffle at XFINITY Fundamentals. Fans can enjoy half-priced appetizers at the ChiSox Bar & Grill, as well as the final day of the end-of-season clearance tent sale.

The season's final Family Sunday, presented by The University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital, includes free pregame autograph sessions and postgame kids run the bases. Tickets are available for as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in Lower Level, with $10 parking. Additional entertainment includes face painters, balloonists, a caricature artist, magnet art and photo opportunities with the White Sox Broadcast Dashers. The pregame autograph session will be open to all fans.
