Will Final Vote be a Windy City sweep?

NEW YORK, July 10, 2014 - As was announced by @MLB at 7 p.m. ET last night, Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo passed Justin Morneau of the Colorado Rockies and the two now are locked in a virtual tie, just ahead of Atlanta Braves outfielder Justin Upton, as Rizzo holds a slim lead ( < 2% ) in the 2014 All-Star Game MLB.com Final Vote Sponsored by Experian. Rizzo's fellow 'Windy City' resident Chris Sale of the Chicago White Sox continues to outpace his fellow American League starting pitchers on the other side of the ballot.

Anything can happen beginning at 10 a.m. ET as Twitter voting joins the tens of millions of votes coming today before the All-Star Game MLB.com Final Vote Sponsored by Experian closes at 4 p.m. ET.

Over the final six hours, tweets using the designated hashtag of any candidate will be counted as part of his final vote tally. With races this close, fan support on Twitter during these final hours of online balloting could play a key role in determining which players take those final two All-Star roster spots.
