Wise placed on disabled list with strained hamstring

OAKLAND -- Outfielder Dewayne Wise was placed on the 15-day disabled list before Sunday's three-game series finale against the A's.

He has a strained right hamstring, an injury sustained last month, manager Robin Ventura said.

"It's been something that's kind of been there for a while," Ventura said. "Initially, it was the Miami game [May 25] when he scored from second, and he just really hasn't been able to go out. Tried to get him in another time and it wasn't there. He was talking about it snapping if he went out there. It's one of those where you've got to get it better."

Wise, 35, was hitting .234 (15-for-64) with a home run, three RBIs and six runs in 30 games. He had appeared in just two games since starting against the Angels on May 18.

Outfielder Jordan Danks was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte.
