Worth noting

• Pitcher Cody Buckel was one of four pitchers who were sent to the Minor Leagues on Wednesday. Buckel came into camp as a fifth-starter candidate. But he faced 15 hitters and allowed seven hits and five walks.

• The Rangers also sent pitchers Matt West, Roman Mendez and Yonata Ortega to Minor League camp. West is coming off Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery last Aug. 22 and is not expected to pitch this season. Mendez had surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right elbow in November and has not appeared in a game this spring.

• Colby Lewis had a 40-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday.
