Worth noting

• In the aftermath of Jake Odorizzi getting optioned to Triple-A, the Rays need a starter for Saturday's game against the Indians, a game Odorizzi was scheduled to start.

Maddon was vague about what direction the team was leaning, but the leading candidates would seem to be right-hander Chris Archer and left-hander Alex Torres.

Torres picked up a win in relief in Baltimore on May 18 before getting sent back down. Archer was slowed earlier this season by a calf issue, but appears to be back up to speed. Colome, who was recalled by the Rays on Wednesday, is a long shot candidate due to the fact he would have to not be used over the course of the next three games to be available for Saturday.
