Worth noting

• Clay Buchholz, after a couple of days of not throwing, resumed playing catch on Saturday. Before Sunday's game, he threw out to 75 feet. The key gauge for Buchholz will be once he tries to throw off a mound again. The righty hasn't pitched since June 8 because of a neck strain.

• Lefty Jon Lester, who experienced minor hip discomfort in his last start, remains on track to pitch on Wednesday night against the Padres. Lester threw a bullpen session before Sunday's game.
