• Collins said Jon Niese will likely be held to about 80 pitches in his final start of the season on Sunday, as the Mets look to send the left-hander into the offseason healthy.

"I told him the importance that he walk out of that clubhouse tomorrow afternoon 100 percent," Collins said before Saturday's game.

Niese is 8-8 with a 3.74 ERA in 23 starts but spent time on the disabled list with a slight tear in his rotator cuff.
