Worth noting

• Pitcher Nate Adcock, who is sidelined with numbness in his right arm and hand, is returning to Texas to be examined by Dr. Greg Pearl, who is a specialist in thoracic outlet syndrome. Adcock is in camp on a Minor League contract and has 36 career appearances with the Royals in 2011-12.

• Pitchers Shawn Tolleson (shoulder) and Miles Mikolas (elbow) threw in the bullpen without problems on Saturday. They are both scheduled to pitch in a "B" game against the Royals on Tuesday.

Alex Rios, who has a strained muscle in his right rib cage, and Brent Lillibridge (jammed right thumb) remain day to day.

Derek Holland flew to Arizona on Saturday to continue the rehab on his surgically repaired left knee.

Adam Rosales was scratched from Saturday's lineup with a stomach virus.
