Outfielder Nick Buss was claimed from the Dodgers by the Oakland A's on Sunday and optioned to Triple-A.

Buss was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on May 1 to clear a 40-man roster spot for pitcher Red Patterson to make his Major League debut on Thursday.

Buss, 27, played in eight games for the Dodgers last year.
