Worth noting

The Daily Show's Jon Stewart expressed faux outrage that Sandberg got food poisoning recently at Shake Shack, committing a few minutes to cracking jokes about the Phillies manager and the City of Brotherly Love.

Sandberg said he enjoyed the bit.

"I like the fact he finally admitted he liked cheesesteaks," Sandberg said.

Left-hander Jake Diekman has allowed six hits, one run, four walks and has struck out 16 in 13 1/3 innings over his last 11 appearances, lowering his ERA from 8.38 to 3.91.

"He's got a lot of confidence right now," Sandberg said. "He's throwing strikes. His breaking ball has been pretty effective. Not really a comfortable, hittable pitch like it was early in the season. Better location with it. The two combined and just hitting his spots and pounding the strike zone and staying out of the middle of the plate."
