• Moss was held out of the A's lineup Sunday for a second straight day, as he continues to nurse a strained right calf suffered in the third inning of Friday's game.

Melvin labeled him day to day, and Moss' goal is to return Tuesday against the Yankees.

"Could I probably hit? Yeah, but the running part I don't know, because I haven't tested it like that yet," Moss said before Sunday's game. "Hopefully [after] today and tomorrow, should be good to go."
