Worth noting

 • The Phillies on Monday begin a stretch of 35 games in which they play teams at or above .500 a total of 32 times, with the exception of Pittsburgh, which fell one-game below .500 with a loss to Miami on Sunday. The run includes games with National League East rivals Atlanta (10), Miami (7) and Washington (3).

"It's still one game at a time," second baseman Chase Utley said. "I have confidence that we'll get it together, because we have guys in this room that want to get better.

• Team president David Montgomery, one month removed from having surgery to remove cancer from his jawbone, stopped by the clubhouse after the game. He talked with the coaching staff as well as Jimmy Rollins, Ryan Howard, Utley and Carlos Ruiz.

• The weekend series loss to Chicago was the first series loss at home for the Phillies against the Cubs since April 6-8 of 2001.
