Worth noting

• Mets principal owner Fred Wilpon joined the team Wednesday on its annual trip to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. The Mets make the visit once each year, touring the facilities and meeting with injured veterans.

• The Mets on Wednesday traded Minor League pitcher Hunter Carnevale to the Blue Jays. A former 33rd-round Draft pick, Carnevale was 4-1 with a 5.59 ERA in 23 relief appearances split between Class A Savannah and Class A St. Lucie.

Matt Harvey joined the growing legions of people across the nation taking the "Ice Bucket Challenge" to raise money and awareness for ALS. The Mets posted a video of Harvey dunking himself in an ice bath on their Twitter feed. The challenge was established to benefit Boston College baseball player Pete Frates (a former teammate of Mets utilityman Eric Campbell), who is battling ALS.
