• Allen Craig got the start at first base on Monday. It was Craig's first time at the position as a member of the Red Sox, though he's played there 210 times in his Major League career.

"He's taken some ground balls, but it's been minimal [since he joined the Red Sox]," Farrell said.

• Brock Holt will start at shortstop as long as Xander Bogaerts is sidelined with a concussion.

• Carlos Rivero had his contract selected from Triple-A Pawtucket to replace Bogaerts and joined the team in Toronto on Monday.

"He's a guy that's capable of three infield positions, plenty of arm strength. Best used at the corner, but can also play shortstop if needed," Farrell said.
