Worth noting

• The Rangers were quietly pleased that Nick Martinez went up and in with a fastball on Logan Morrison in Tuesday's game. The Rangers weren't happy with Morrison's slide in the eighth inning on Monday. He overslid the bag and went high with his spikes into second baseman Rougned Odor's right knee. Odor wasn't hurt, but the Rangers weren't happy and Martinez let Morrison know about it with a tight fastball without hitting him.

• Cody Buckel, the former top prospect who has been dealing with severe control issues for two years, pitched two scoreless innings without walking or hitting a batter on Tuesday night for Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach. That was a first for him this season.

• Andrus had reached base safely in 15 consecutive games before going 0-for-4 on Tuesday.
