Worth noting

• Catching prospect Elias Diaz was named the MVP for Double-A Altoona earlier in the week. Diaz hit .328 with an .823 OPS in 91 games for Altoona before being promoted to Triple-A this month.

Diaz, 23, has gone from an under-the-radar prospect to a potential Pirates backstop of the future. Former first-round Draft pick Tony Sanchez has recently started making starts at first base, transitioning from behind the plate.
