Yankees re-sign German on Minors deal

NEW YORK -- The Yankees announced on Friday that they have re-signed right-handed pitching prospect Domingo German to a Minor League contract.

German, 23, missed all of the 2015 season due to Tommy John surgery and has compiled a 2.33 ERA in 77 games (44 starts) over five Minor League seasons. The Yankees non-tendered German on Dec. 3, removing him from the 40-man roster.

He was acquired by the Yankees from the Marlins on Dec. 19, 2014, along with right-hander Nathan Eovaldi and outfielder Garrett Jones, in exchange for infielder Martin Prado and right-hander David Phelps.
