Yasiel Puig Crushes Two Homers in Second MLB Game

Historic debuts and all that.

So. Yasiel Puig. Heard of him? If not, you will. He was a highly touted prospect of the Dodgers. Now he’s a highly touted outfielder for the Dodgers.

Making his Major League debut on June 3, Puig lined a single in his first at-bat. He finished the night going 2-for-4 with two singles and showcased his cannon arm with a game-ending throw. That’s a pretty good first game. Well, it wasn’t good enough for him.

Last night in his follow-up act, Puig did something special. He went 3-for-4, but this time two of his hits landed in the bleachers. He ended the night with 5 RBIs to become the first Dodger ever to have a multi-home run game in his first two starts. Puig is also the first Dodger since 1947 to collect 5 RBIs in his first two games.

Whether or not this Dodgers team can right the ship and get back into contention remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be a lot of fun watching Yasiel Puig. Just listen to Vin Scully. After more than 60 years calling games, even he’s having a blast watching Yasiel Puig.

And, based on these tweets, so are his teammates.
