Here is the latest on injuries and roster moves involving MLB Pipeline's Top 100 prospects:

LATEST NEWS

No. 14 Walker Jenkins, OF, Twins
Injury: Grade 1 left hamstring strain
Expected return: TBD
Minnesota's top prospect injured his hamstring during the club's Feb. 28 contest. Manager Derek Shelton stated that Jenkins "will be down for a bit," but didn't give a specific timetable for the outfielder's return. The strain is not viewed as significant, but given Jenkins' lengthy injury history, the club is going to proceed with caution. (Last updated: March 1)

No. 17 Thomas White, LHP, Marlins
Injury: Grade 1 right oblique strain
Expected return: Late March/early April
The Marlins' No. 1 prospect will be shut down for three to four weeks after feeling discomfort during his Grapefruit League debut on Feb. 26. The outing lasted just one frame as White allowed two runs, issued a walk and struck out one batter while throwing 28 pitches. The 21-year-old will still spend time soaking up information at big league camp, but the club plans to give him the remainder of Spring Training to recover. More >> (Last updated: March 1)

(ordered by ranking)

No. 7 Sebastian Walcott, SS/3B, Rangers
Injury: Underwent internal brace surgery on right elbow
Expected return
: As early as August
It’s good news that the 19-year-old infielder avoided Tommy John surgery, shortening the recovery time. It’s going to be a timeline of about five to six months before he starts hitting, and the fielding will follow. Position players have a shorter rehab timeline for elbow surgery than pitchers with either the internal brace or Tommy John surgery. If Walcott returns in August, it’s conceivable that he could appear in regular-season games at a Minor League affiliate before heading to the Arizona Fall League or a Winter League in the offseason. No. 8 Samuel Basallo, C/1B, Orioles
Injury: Side discomfort
Expected return: Day to day
Basallo exited a Grapefruit League game with right side abdominal discomfort in the third inning on Feb. 26, a move Baltimore manager Craig Albernaz later described as “precautionary.” The 21-year-old departed after laying on the ground and holding his right side, though he eventually walked off the field -- and back to the clubhouse. Albernaz said he doesn't expect Basallo to go for further testing. (Last updated: Feb. 26)

No. 23 Aidan Miller, SS, Phillies
Injury: Back discomfort
Expected return: Day-to-day
Miller has been held out of baseball activities since Feb. 21 while dealing with recurring back soreness. The issue first flared up last year for the 2023 first-rounder, who missed the final few games of the 2025 Minor League season and was pulled from participating in the Arizona Fall League due to similar discomfort. The Phillies had planned for their top prospect to spend time at both shortstop and third base throughout the spring before his back pain returned. The club doesn't have a timetable for when Miller will resume baseball activities, but they are leaving the door open for him to still suit up in games this spring. If he doesn't play before the big league club breaks camp, Miller will likely return at some point during the season for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The Florida native posted an .825 OPS across Double-A and Triple-A last season. More >> (Last updated: Feb. 28)

No. 47 Aiva Arquette, SS, Marlins
Injury: Underwent core muscle surgery
Expected return: 4-6 weeks
Miami's 2025 first-rounder sustained a left groin injury during offseason workouts in his native Hawaii and stopped baseball activities with hopes of recovering soon after. When he arrived at Spring Training and restarted his workouts, the pain returned, leading to core muscle surgery to remedy the discomfort. Arquette slashed .242/.350/.323 over 27 contests last season at High-A Beloit. More >> (Last updated: Feb. 28)

No. 54 Travis Sykora, RHP, Nationals
Injury: Torn UCL
Expected return: Potentially late 2026
After an MRI unveiled a torn UCL, the right-hander underwent UCL reconstruction last August. The 21-year-old had been one of the Minor Leagues' most dominant pitchers last season, registering a 1.79 ERA across 12 starts while reaching Double-A. (Last updated: Feb. 26)
